My home away from home!

Just sitting here at home, pondering the week and just thought I would say howdy!

Thank you all for your prayers for my daughter Gloria and her family and the rest of my family in Texas. Since recording this Saturday evening, April 21, Gloria was transfered to Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, for futher tests. Continue to lift her to the Lord! Thank you, Paul

Often, it is in the simple things that the Lord speaks to us and makes Himself know. In ways we can understand, even the simplicity of a shower!

On The Road Again

Isn't technology cool … I can be traveling down the road, heading to Woodstock, steering wheel in one hand and digital recorder in the other and be totally mobile and share my thoughts and keeping my eyes on the road :)

When we ask someone, how are you doing, do we really want to know or is it just something we ask to be polite?

Are we willing to listen?

Hold On - Don’t Give Up!!

April 10th, 2007

Don’t you just love it when our Father takes the time to speak to us, To make Himself known in a way, that we know without a doubt that it is His voice!!

No, I didn’t hear a voice from heaven, nor did an angel appear to me, but my Father did sing to me, yes He did!! He took two sister’s, Regina and Lara Swarn , to sing a song, that I really needed to hear as I was going through some spiritual warfare and physical pain.

As I visited their blog and began to listened to Hold On. The Lord reminded me to hold on, to not let go, even when the pain seem more than I could bear, He reminded me to hold on, reminded me of the price our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ payed , the pain that He bore for us and that He was carrying us through it all and that what He has begun in me, in you, in all of us when we hold on, He will finished.

We don’t always understand, the why’s of life, the battles, but we do know that we have a Father, who is watching over us, speaking to us, catching each tear drop, feeling each pain and loving us through it!

That we rest in His loving arms, embracing Him. He indeed is reminding us to Hold On, because He is holding us and He won’t ever let go!!

Thank you Regina and Lora for being the voice that Our Father used to speak to me and to remind me to hold on, never give up, for we are never without hope, as we hold on to Him!

Till later,

Paul

The Serene Bean

April 6th, 2007

The Serene Bean!

What a fitting name!! Recently a friend of mine told me about a Coffee Shop and Cafe in Woodstock, no, not New York, but in Woodstock, Georgia!

Well I made a trip over there last night. It was worth it! They are open Monday through Thursday from 7am till 9pm.

Fridays and Saturdays, from 8am till 11pm, with live music, everything from Jazz to Country Gospel, bluegrass, blues, as they say, music and art, under one roof, I plan to check it out tonight!

They are closed on Sundays.  On Wednesdays, they have open mike night, don’t worry, I am not about to sing, not even for supper!

The name really applies. There is a peace and serentity about The Serene Bean. Josh, one of the employee’s I met was very helpful, friendly and made me feel welcomed.

Did I mention that they have free Wi-Fi? For a blogger and writer, plus music, that is an awesome combination and the food, Oh my, the coffee was awesome and the Italian Sub, was very good.

Over the next month or so, I plan to try the whole menu! The Serene Bean has been voted the best coffee shop in Woodstock by the Woodstock Tribune for the second year in a row! The Serene Bean has also been voted the best coffee shop in Woodstock by Around Woodstock magazine!

So if you live in the area or passing through, check out The Serene Bean.

They are located at 105 East Main Street, Historic Woodstock, next to the Gazebo!

Heartbroken

April 5th, 2007

All of my friends have left me
Just when I needed them most—
And yet with but one command
I could call an angel host!

But I’ve been called to do this,
In spite of being alone
To sacrifice all I have
For those who chose to disown

Soon I’ll drink the bitter cup—
Oh Father, take it from me!
Rather, let your will be done
As painful as it may be—

Soon I’ll be tortured and killed—
Shamed upon a wooden cross!
But what hurts the most of all:
My friends won’t help bear the loss!

Heartbroken, here I am—
A lion called as a lamb—
All hope of salvation gone,
Through the pain I must travel on.

Forgive them, loving Father,
For they know not what they do—
I take this path of torture
To bring them all back to you.
