Why Write? Why Sing? Why Bother?
Sometimes, the hardest time to write, to sing, is when you don’t really feel like it, when you don’t feel anything but yet something within causes you too and the very obedience of picking up the pen, or sitting at the keyboard, as an act of sacrifice, of worship to the Lord, you begin to write from the heart, from the inner most part of your being, from the midst of the storms of life, the dark nights of the soul, from that which has been made real in our lives.
For it is when we share from the things of life, from the battles, from the storms, that the Lord can touch the lives of other because He has brought us through, that we have endure the battles, the turmoil and though it made have been only a thread, we held on, we didn’t let go and the songs that we sing, the words that we write come from a heart made strong in the Lord, words and songs written on broken hearts, hearts made pliable in the hand of a loving Father, words that others need to hear and to know that we are never, ever, without hope.
We are to lift our hearts, our pens, our songs to the Lord, to lift up the Lord, to exalt our Father, to allow the Holy Spirit to bring forth that which the Father has birthed within us, the new life, the new beginnings that we have been given, the second chances.
There is something within that cries out, a word, a song, that bursts forth and in the releasing of that word, that song, freedom will break forth, the chains will be broken, hearts will be set free.
So hold on, do not turn back, do not give up, look to the Master Artist, the Author and finisher of our faith, the Master Musician, sing the songs, write the words and proclaim that today is indeed the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it, knowing that we can rise each day to a new beginning, a fresh start, anchored in the finished work of the Cross, for our Father is taking the pens of our life to write new songs, stories yet to be told, for the final chapter of our lives is yet to be written and only He knows the end!
He has set us free, that others too might be free!!
Till later,
Paul

Hey there Paul! Just stopping by to try to catch up on some reading here. This post was a blessing. Writing honestly and more frequently in all phases of life is something I should try to get back to, especially on my blog. It seems that with all the work to be done here, I’ve all but abandoned my readers and the friends I have through my site. I do hope to write more soon though, as soon as I figure out a schedule that works. Maybe in the evenings, briefly before bed. I don’t know, but pray with me that God will guide, and that others will be blessed as He anoints. Thanks! God bless you, brother.
