Have you bathed lately?
Well, what kind of question is that, when have I bathed?
Rather personal, kinda cheeky , don’t you think?
Kind of, but it did get your attention, didn’t it?
What triggered that thought and brought a smile to my heart, is that our Father, has a real sense of humor when He speaks to our hearts, if we will listen and be aware of His presence around us.
As I was writing into my prayer journal, the quote at the top of the page was from Charles Haddon Spurgeon, Wash your face every morning in a bath of praise and as I read that simple quote, what an impact it had.
That the preparation of the day, that which enables us to have strength, is to simply come into the presence of the Lord, of our Father and simply bathe in His presence and lift our hearts, our minds, our spirits in praise and adoration of Him!
To offer the sacrifice of praise, to lift Him up, even when our hearts are not in it.
In the simple obedience to worship Him, He will flood us with a peace and rest that only He can give.
A presence of His love, of His healing power, that opens our hearts so that He might come and dwell in us and heal the wounds of life, of the day.
It is when we bathe in that praise, that we learn to love, to forgive, to grow, to become a reflection of the Lord in this world.
Let that be our resolution this year, every morning, let us wash our face in a bath of praise, of adoration of our Father, of our Lord and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us, day by day, moment by moment.
For in the praise we will find the strength, the rest and the peace of the Lord that passes all understanding!
