It Brings A Smile To His Face Too!

Today was truly an awesome day!!

Have you ever had a feeling, a kind of a tug of the Spirit, that the Lord wants you to be somewhere?

This morning was one of those times, I woke up early and headed off to Starbucks and this morning it was like a reunion, people that I have not seen in awhile, as well as new friends recently made. Hugs, laughter, just enjoying time spent with another person, with no other motive but the joy that comes from time spent with others!

And the amazing thing is, it seems contagious, because that joy, that laughter, even in the midst of life’s battles, spills over to those around you.

It is so amazing how the little things we do, the things we say, will touch those around us. A hug, a pat on the back or that word of encouragement, of affirmation, that lifts someone else up.

Of learning to listen, not only with our ears but with our hearts also, allowing others to share, for often in the sharing, a burden is lifted, a heart is touched and all we had to do was listen and be there.

Another part of my day, is being part of a life group, from my church, Northstar, that meets every other Wednesday. A mixed group of singles and newly single.

A group where you can be honest, open and real and enjoy fellowship. We are reading and studying The Five Love Languages for Singles by Gary Chapman and it is an awesome study.

Our group is made up of singles, divorced and in this group, there is a sense of openness, of sharing from the heart, of being real, of encouraging and listening to one another and creating friendships.

It is something that I look forward to each time that we get together because I always come away uplifted, encouraged, with a sense of strength and encouragement from those who have a love for the Lord and building friendships based on that common love of the Lord.

Knowing that others are walking this path, called life and knowing that our Fathers plan’s for us, are good plans and He put’s people in our path, to encourage us along the way. Is that not awesome?

It is the same thing with blogging. I have made many friends over the years, some I have met. I always come away encouraged by the words, the thoughts, the ideas that they share, again as we walk this path called life.

In the midst of all that is going on around us, the Lord will give us safe havens, places to draw strength, through our fellowship with others.

I have been blessed by the various things in my life since being here in Georgia, with my church, the life group and with my many friends online, those that I visit and those that visit me!!

Indeed God’s plans for us, are good plans, they really are and each day I look back and see all that He has done and is doing and like the Psalmist David I can say, “Every day [with its new reasons] will I bless You [affectionately and gratefully praise You]; yes, I will praise Your name forever and ever.” Amplified Bible Psalm 145:2.

For He delights in us, delighting in Him and you know what?

It brings a smile to His face too!!

I hear ya! As they say here in our area and I bet in yours too!! Tonight we were with friends for dinner and then went to a service together in a town over an hour away to celebrate the “Biblical New Year” and just got home. It is truely a joy to be with those on the same path!! Glad you have found a nice niche to be part of!! We so need others! And the LORD knew that and when we find those to connect with, I think HE smiles down on that too!
    Blessings, Elizabeth

    Hi Elizabeth,

Indeed it is good to be in fellowship with those that are walking together, walking in the ways of the Lord, ever tuned to His presence.

The Lord has open so many doors and there are others that I know that He will open in the days to come.

I know thanksgiving is not till November, but have a prayer request for you. My oldest daughter and grandkids will be here, along with my former wife Jodie, of course the youngest daughter and her husband, and possible our son Joshua.

It will be the first time that we all will be together, as family, though broken and I have no clue what the Lord will do.

I just want to see the presence of the Lord there and for the Lord to do what He wants.

Thanks for your prayers and always for your encouragement.

    Writing for the King,

    Paul

So glad you have such sweet fellowship with others there. You hit ito on something important when you mentioned listening with our hearts and not just our ears. Posted on this today.

Hope you’ll have a peaceful weekend ahead. The weather is beautiful. Time for us to get a cup of coffee together sometime soon.
