With A Thankful Heart Part 1

I woke this morning with a thankful heart, with an awareness of the presence of the Lord! That He was ministering to my heart, to my mind and to my spirit. To let me know everything was alright, that yes, I had become slack in my writing, in my posting, in my prayer, in my fellowship with Him.

I was preoccupied with everything but Him! It is so easy to lose our zeal, our passion, our love for the Lord, when we allow other things to rob us of our time with Him. The little things, the little foxes, that rob us of what it means to walk with the Father on a daily basis. Of taking Him for granted, just like we take people for granted, without acknowledging them and when we do that, our relationships grow cold and distant.

It is so easy to become complacent, to become me focused, rather than focused on the Lord, on our relationship with the Father and with others and when we are focused on ourselves, we don’t see the needs of others, we are not sensitive to the Lord, to the Spirit, so that we can know how we are to minister, to pray, to encourage, to exhort and to lift up others, as they walk this path called life.

We need to be cultivating our relationship with the Father, with the Creator of Heaven and Earth. Why is it so easy for us to forget, that we have been called into fellowship with Him, that He desires that we daily come before Him, to fellowship and commune with Him, to allow the Lord by the Holy Spirit to set the tone for the day, creating within us a heart that is sensitive to others, to be attune to the Lord, that when He speaks to our heart, we say “Yes Lord!”

That we will learn to hear the heart beat of the Spirit of the Lord, that will guide us through the day, through the week, through life. Who will teach us how to pray, to live, to be in relationship with Him. That He will teach us to build others up in faith. That others, who do not know the Lord, will desire to know Him because of what they see reflecting in our everyday life as we walk with Him, as real people, living a real life, in a real world, not some kind of spiritual spooks, but actually walking in the rest and peace of the Lord, for that is what will draw others, is that sense of the presence of the Lord within.
