Still Wondering!

Nearly two years after I posted “Do You Wonder” to Hill Country Thoughts while sitting on the front porch at my former home in Texas!

Today I find myself sitting here in my study in Kennesaw, Georgia, looking out the window and find myself still wondering!

Asking myself again, the same question, why bother? Why press in? Is it worth the struggle, the pain?

Then I look at Rebekah, Jordan and Kiean and I know the answer already, that they need to see in their grandpa, the strength of the Lord, of the hope that is within. That my son Joshua and my daughters Gloria and Elise, need to see that their Dad is standing on a firm foundation, the solid rock, a sure foundation in the Lord Jesus Christ.

That in spite of all of the events of the last three years, the Lord still reigns, that He is on the throne of my life and it is this relationship that enables me to walk, to press in and move forward in the new beginnings of my life.

His word is a living word, that is breathed on by the Holy Spirit, giving hope and understanding and it brings us to a place in our life that we acknowledge, “Lord, I can’t, but you can!”

We cannot walk this path of life on our own. We need to draw strength from the living water of the Word and from the presence of the Lord, that enables us to rise up and face the day.

To yield to the Lord, all, that we have tried to carry on our own. We yield to Him and He covers us with His presence. He applies the healing balm of His presence to the wounds of life. A release and a peace of the Lord is giving to us, burdens are lifted.

We realize that indeed our Father is in control, preparing the way before us. He replaces the doubts and fears, drawing us unto Himself. We are becoming intimately acquainted with the Lord. He brings us to a place of rest, of trust and knowing it is all about Him.

That we were and we are created for His glory. That as we walk with Him, as we trust Him, we bring honor and glory and praise to the Father and those around us will see the life that is being birthed within us, that gives off a fragrance of who He is and what He will do, if we will yield to Him.

We are learning to die to self. Allowing the new life, the life of Christ to come forth, that we can honestly say it is no longer “I that liveth, yet I live”, because of the Christ within. We are being changed daily, as we come into His presence and into His word!

Well, neighbor you got company in this corner…I don’t think your feelings are unusual for those of us in our age group anyway. But we are still alive so we know God has a purpose for us to fulfill…gotta pass our test! Hang in there…pray the tests at the VA will go well too!
