The Love Of A Son!

A few months ago, in December 2005, my son, Joshua and I went to a Saturday morning service in Acworth, Georgia.

It was an awesome service and something I will remember the rest of my life.

One of the events that was so very special to me, is when the pastor told my son, that He felt like the Lord wanted my son Joshua to anoint my feet with oil, in the same way that you would wash someone’s feet.

It was one of the most humbling and awesome moments in my life, when my son and another brother took the form of a servant and began to rub my feet with oil and my son praying that the Father would give wisdom and guidance to me in this new year, that the Lord would give me direction.

That the Father would guide my hands to write, my ears to hear and my heart to speak forth His life giving word.

Word’s are so important! What we speak effects others! We can build up or destroy someone in a moments time. All the more reason to set a guard upon our lips!

Word’s like a knife cut deep and wound deeply the heart and take a very long time to heal. Are you speaking life? Building up one another?

Building up your husband, your wife, your children, your friends or do as we all have done at times, speak the first thing that comes to mind, without considering the results!

My Son Joshua, spoke words of life, words that built me up and brought hope. Likewise, I was able to pray for my son Joshua and speak blessings to him, to his life.

Though my daughters Gloria and Elise, where not there, I was also able to lift them, as well as their mother to the Lord and speak blessings to their lives and the lives of their families also!

Words indeed carry within themselves, life or death.

What are we speaking?

    Your welcome!

Indeed the Lord has blessed with awesome children and friends, especially the ones online :)

Yep, I kind of came up short. My son and daughters are both taller than me :)

    Hi Paula!

    Thanks!!

My son Joshua has been a real source of strength to me, one who has believed in me when others didn’t.

He always encouraged me, gave me that kick in the butt that I needed at times :)

I would not trade him or his sisters Gloria and Elise for anything. They give strength and hope to me.

Be blessed my friend. You, Bill and your family are a bless to me also!!

There’s no better way to bond with your children than spiritually. You sound like a great dad.

    Hi Darlene,

    Thanks!

Not only is my son my son, but a brother and fellow-servant of the Lord.

    How awesome is that!

Blessings my friend. I really like Christian Women Online, what a blessing to those involved and those that take time to blog by and read and be blessed by the various articles.

Hello Paul! A foot washing/annointing is one of the most humbling experiences we can ever have, at least when dealing with another brother/sister in Christ. It just seems to break the heart to see another at our feet and brings home what Jesus did for the disciples and how truly unworthy we are of that sacrifice.

What an awesome experience you had with your son! He looks a lot like you and must be a fine young man!

    Blessings!
