Son Tanning?

If there is one thing that I have learned over the years is that the Lord has a real sense of humor!

Again, I was taking a shower, yea I really do, on a regular basis. It seems like I always get some real good thoughts during the quiet time of taking a shower.

I can make a joyful sound, you know, sing in the shower during that time :-)

As I was taking a shower, the thought came to mind, Son tanned and I said, say what?

“Did I hear you right Lord? Son tanned, don’t you mean sun tanned?”

The thought came back, “Nope, I meant son tanned!”

So I began to dwell on that, to think about it and you know what? It’s true, it made sense!

We can be Son tanned. For it is when we come into His presence, as we bask in His word, in His presence, we are getting the ultimate tan, that healthy glow of being in the presence of the Lord.

That we are becoming more like the Lord. That we coming to that place and walk with the Lord that we can truly see the reality of Galations 2:20:

“Christ’s life showed me how, and enabled me to do it. I identified myself completely with him. Indeed, I have been crucified with Christ. My ego is no longer central. It is no longer important that I appear righteous before you or have your good opinion, and I am no longer driven to impress God. Christ lives in me. The life you see me living is not “mine,” but it is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 The Messeger Bible.

In the Amplified Bible it reads : “I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”

Indeed, we are a new creation and the life we live, we live in Christ by faith. We relie on the Lord. Put our complete trust in Him! Through the Holy Spirit we are to walk in this new life here and now. Renewed and refreshed each day in Him.

So bask in the Lord, dwell in His presence and be Son tanned! :)

    Hey Paul,
I’ve been a lurker on your site for quite awhile since I met up with Vicki over at “Windows”. I’ve admired your writings and your Christian friendship and support for many of these bloggers and perhaps we can share one of those famous cups of coffee someday. I’m just south of Atlanta in McDonough. I would be honored if you add me to your list and I’d like to do the same.

Hahahaha! I get a lot of inspiration while brushing my teeth. You’re so funny.

I’m recalling the times I’ve sat in the sun. The feeling was great and it lingers long after you come out. A little sun is healthy for you too. Cures alot of depression and rejuvenates us. Sun/Son. Great
    analogy!

    Hi Sparrow!

Thanks … always try to bring in a little humor once in a while.

I think the Lord likes to speak to us through things we can understand.

He indeed rejuvenates us though the Word, through His Presence and by His Holy Spirit!

Be blessed my friend. Thanks for the encouragement!

    Paul
