It Really Is Not About Us!!
I have been meditating over a post that my friend Vicki of Windows To My Soul wrote and I want to share some thoughts with you and encourage you to visit her blog and read the whole post, It Is Not About Me! Vicki shared:“God is not an item at the top of our to-do list. HE IS OUR LIFE. He wants US totally. No hidden agendas. No holding back. He knows what needs to be done in each of our lives, and He will do what is needed to be done through us, once we get out of the way.’ Indeed, He is our life. He wants us to be totally part of Him. In fellowship with Him on a daily basis. To be attuned to His heart so that we can hear the voice of the Spirit stirring in our soul. He is bringing us to a place of no hidden agendas, to a place of not holding back. I have know the Lord as my savior since 1969. But it has only been in the last three years that I have come to know Him as Lord. Lord of my life, from the theory to the reality of who He is.
And as my friend Vicki shared: “Once we get out of the way. He will do what needs to be done through us as we get out of the way.’ She goes on to share: “Surrender is hard to learn. Maybe that´s why I´ve had more than one wake-up call [I can identify with that too.] It is only through absolute surrender to Christ that He is able to exhibit His Life and love and awesome power through us. In Him we live and have our being.’ One of the things that I have learned over the last three years is that we can live and walk in the ways of the Lord. That as we surrender our life, as we yield to the Lord, that is when we begin to reflect the reality of the Christ within. In serving the Lord, we are made free. Truly set free to live and abide in the awesome power of the Lord. He has called us to live and dwell in His presence on a daily basis. That we can walk in the here and now, in the real world, serving a real Lord and Savior an as Vicki shared: “I want to live and move and have my being in Him, don´t you?’ So truly it´s not about us, It is about Him, always has been and always will be and in serving Him, in surrendering all to Him, we are truly free!! Till later, Paul

Simply awesome!
In fellowship with Him on a daily basis.
Yes. I feel this call as of lately. “Meditate on me.” “Be still and know that I am God.” “Come away my Beloved.” These are His wooing whispers of love.

They are still working on the site. Still some sprucing coming up.
Meditate day and night, I have always loved that thought. He is always wooing us.
Blessings my friend,
Paul

Great post. I have visited Windows to My Soul as well and thought she did a great job on the post too. You both are right…it’s not about us. We need to deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow Him.

Well, howdie Paul. How gracious and kind of you to mention my post here. I was quite surprised. You have encouraged my heart so much. Thank you. I wanted to stop by to let you know that Darlene is designing a new template for “Windows to My Soul” and i hope to switch over to it very soon. Just saw the ‘proof’ and it has a nice feel to it. Sometimes a change is good! And I’ve definitely needed a facelift….LOL….
Catch you later, my friend~

I read Vicki’s post and it is as good as you say. God is taking the masks off all of us, and we’re being real with Him and each other. It’s all about dying to ourselves. Thanks for this Paul

Hi John,
Thanks for blogging by my friend!
Indeed the Lord is taking the masks off all of us. Learning to be real with the Lord, my friend and my brother, as well as my saviour.
In the dying, His life comes forth, thus, it really is not about us, it is about Him.
I am in the process of reading Max Lucado’s book “It’s Not About Me”
It truly is a blessing and confirms things that the Lord has been speaking to my heart and I love that when the Lord does that.
Catch ya later,

Hi Donna,
I am also in the process of reading Max Lucado’s “It’s Not About Me.” and also awaiting the delivery of “Mocha With Max”.
I really enjoy reading his books. I just finished “A Gentile Thunder” and also have a book of his that is 3in1 that was given to me while I was in the hospital.
Have not read any of John Eldredge that I can think of.
Blessings my friend. I enjoyed chatting with you earlier!

Paul

It surely is all about HIM…and HIS plans for us! Our plans yesterday were to drive over to the coast, 3 hours away and look over the university there as daughter needs to go elsewhere after finishing in Dec. Well, our state told us to stay home this weekend due to the gas shortages now. And we needed to stock up our food to help the next couple weeks, and so decided to scrap going. Lo and behold, our usual gas stations were closed and only a few open. Chances are that we might not have gotten home. Then about 5 or 6 PM I went out to get the mail and put the garbage can back. The young neighbor man came out too and began talking to me…we stood till almost dark (misquitos and all…argh) and I invited him to a LATE supper over here and invited him to come chat with hubby as he has so many questions about the scriptures. He is a Believer; a very intelligent one who cannot accept anything not substantiated in scriptures. Any rate, he stayed until 1 AM…had we been gone, this would not have been. SO, we only think we make plans, eh? HIS are higher and greater…may we forever be HIS good bond servants!! So grateful that HE chose us!
Blessings…good thoughts, my friend

Always a blessing to have ya blogging by!
Indeed it is always about us. We never know when things are going to change as you just shared.

This was a blessing. My yard is still a mess from Katrina, but all my family that lives on the Gulf Coast is alive and well. God is so much in control and we will one day see His greater purpose for good. The light will always dispell the dark. Great blog, I’ll be back!

Hi Gina,
Thank you and thank you for blogging by.
I am glad that your family is doing well. Just finished reading some of your posts.
Indeed the Lord is in control, weither it is in the natural storms or the storms of life, the dark nights of the soul. We may not always understand all the details, but our faith is in Him in the midst of it all.
It is during those times that we are giving a chance to reflect the character and reality of the Lord. The Christ within.
Be blessed Gina, you and your family are in my prayers.
