Angel In The Park!

I was really kind of anxious to get to the little park down the street today.

It was a beautiful day, a nice breeze, sun shining, the smell of the pine trees. I sat up my portable desk and chair. Got comfortable and sat things up to write and to just relax and finish reading Charles “Chuck” Swindoll’s book “Getting Through The Tough Stuff” and I was thinking I sure would like to read some more of his books.

At that moment I looked up and there was an older gentleman crossing the cover bridge into the park and we nodded and I said hello and we began to talk and just had a real good conversation about the Lord, about families and what the Lord is doing in our lives.

There was a real presence of the Lord as we shared. I found out that he was a member of North Star Church, involved in mission work. We exchanged names and e-mail addresses and I told him I would be glad to pray for the up coming mission trip and now I have the privilege to be able to lift them before the Lord.

As we talked, I shared about the book that I just finishing reading by Charles Swindoll and what an impact it was having on my life spiritually. Shared that I wanted to be more like Christ. As we talked he reached into his backpack and pulled out a book and handed it to me. I couldn’t believe it!

It was a book by Charles Swindoll called “So You Want To Be Like Christ.” I was truly blessed that the Lord sent someone at that time, at that moment, to give me a gift and to let me know that He heard me.

So indeed there was an angel in the park today. An angel called “Coach” and for that I am thankful. Thank you Coach for sharing and for a gift that touched my heart more then you will ever know.

You never know my friends when you will entertain angels unawares. Not all angels are angelic. One of the definitions of an angel is a messenger of God.

It could be a grandchild, such as my grandson Jordan, coming up and giving me hug, laying his head on my shoulder and saying “It is going to be ok grandpa.” We never know how the Lord will speak to us or what form it might take.

All that I know is that an angel, called Coach, touched my heart and delivered a message from my Father, that He was there, in the midst of all that is going on in my life.

Thank you Coach!!

Till later,

Paul
