Finding Time!!
What are you doing?
Right now, at this time, what are you doing?
Why is it when we have time, we often do not use it wisely? To spend time with the Lord, with the family or with friends. To just sit down and just enjoy their company.
I almost missed an opportunity to spend some time with my son-in-law Sheridan, here at Lake Acworth, just visiting and talking while He is fishing.
Early I was sitting at my desk, busy at the computer, absorbed in what I was doing when my son-in-law asked me twice if I wanted to go to the lake, I didn’t hear him and my daughter Gloria told me he asked me twice.
I almost missed an opportunity to spend time in fellowship with him, if Gloria had not said something. Sheridan might have thought I had ignored him.
Sometimes we need to slow down, stop and pay attention to things around us. To be aware of others. Pay attention to conversations, listen to others. Conversations lost are gone forever and precious moments are hard to regain once lost.
It is sort of like that commercial on TV where the wife comes out of the bedroom and asked how she looks in the dress and He never bothers to look away from the paper and he makes the comment “You look great.” and she turns away very upset. It might have been “a funny commercial” but the hurt that comes from it, isn’t.
How often have we done that to one another. We don’t bother to pay attention to others, to family, to the Lord.
We just give off the cuff remarks and move on not realizing the the hurt we might have done to those we love. Our wives, our children and yes the Lord.
I believe it grieves the heart of the Father when we don’t take time to really pay attention to Him, to allow Him to speak to our hearts, to our spirits, to yield back to the Lord with a heart of praise and worship and letting Him know how much we love Him.
Take time to listen to those around you. Don’t zone them out. Take a breather and enjoy those around you, your family, your friends, the Lord. Precious moments lost are forever gone.
Take time to listen, stop what you are doing and pay attention to those close to you. You might be amazed at what you hear!!
Till later,
Paul
