Open Mike Night!

Friday night and it is open mike night here at Starbucks, off Cobbs Highway in Kennesaw!!

Sometimes, actually a lot of times it is nice to set back, relax and enjoy life, the things around you. To take in the beauty of the day, the uniqueness of the night. To take time to learn to know those around you.

That is what is happening here at Starbucks this evening. It is open mike night. It is something that they have just begun and something I hope to see continue.

There are a lot of people crowded into Starbucks, young and old, talking, laughing, enjoying the music, the local talent.

As I look around I see a lot of regulars to this Starbucks, employees, children, young and old, interacting together, neighbors learning to know one another, fellowshipping.

So I am just sharing the joy of being with friends. There is a lot of talent here and two that I listening to right now are Joshua and Braden. Both were really great. Sharing original music, sharing the talents that have been given to them.

Is that not what it is all about, sharing, using the talents that has been given us to bring joy to others, to touch lives.

What I find so amazing is how often it is when I am here at Starbucks, the Lord often speaks to me, puts on my heart what to share while here.

Here in the midst of so much activity and noise I can hear that still small voice of the Lord and I think that is one of the lessons that the Lord is teaching me is that in the midst of all that is going on I can hear His voice.

Even in the heat of the battle, in spiritual warfare we can hear and in hearing we learn to respond to the Lord.

How we react will determine the results and as I shared Wednesday in the Boomer life group that I am attending, that I know it is the Lord that has taught me how to react to all that has transpired in my life over the last three years and I know it is a God thing, because without Him, I would have caved in a long time ago.

But here I am three years later, sitting in Starbucks, enjoying fellowship with friends over coffee, music here in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Take time to relax, enjoy the things around you. Don’t take things for granted. Enjoy the time with family and friends. Enjoy your children and grand children. Don’t let time slip away. Enjoy the time and the moment for it passes quickly.

Till later,

Paul
